In the beginning of the pandemic, in an effort to get out of the house, Lisa Congdon and her wife began exploring the Oregon Coast two hours from their home in Portland, Oregon. On each trip, they became smitten with the area known as Oregon’s “North Coast,” which spans the area between Pacific City in the south to Astoria in the north. In December 2020, Congdon and her wife eventually purchased a home in Manzanita, Oregon, half a block from the ocean, where they now live part time. Congdon has spent countless hours over the past year cycling through the rugged coastlines, vast beaches, historic communities dotted with “barn quilts”, pastoral agricultural land, dark forests, collecting inspiration and falling even more deeply in love with this area she now calls home. North Coast is an exploration of Congdon’s love for Oregon’s coastal flora, fauna, color, and heritage.
