Stephanie Chefas Projects is delighted to present the sculptural work of Vince Skelly in the Gallery Annex this June. Vince Skelly is attracted to primitive objects and dolmens (megalithic structures). He is transfixed by how ancient stools and prehistoric tools look perfectly placed in the modern world. Skelly’s primordial pieces can often be a puzzle in simplicity sitting in the studio for up to six months before he “solves it”.
All of his work being carved from a single block, Vince believes there is an amorphous relationship between the contemporary and the prehistoric giving him a vast array of unified objects he desires to sculpt.
The sculptures of Vince Skelly will be on view at Stephanie Chefas Projects from June 6 - July 4, 2020. Stephanie Chefas Projects is located in Portland, Oregon at 305 SE 3rd Avenue on the second floor of the Urban Row building.
