Stephanie Chefas Projects is delighted to welcome Portland based ceramist Thuong Tran Lock with In Other Words, the artist’s debut exhibition with the gallery featuring a new collection of balloon sculptures.

Lock breathes new life into a traditional and (at times) heavy medium by creating the illusion that the work is floating effortlessly across a wall. Other times, the work appears deflated as it sits upon a flat surface. With titles such as ‘Take Me Home’ and ‘You Are My Universe’, In Other Words explores feelings of joy with various ways to say “I love you”.

The opening for In Other Words will be held at Stephanie Chefas Projects on Saturday, April 9th from 5-8pm. Masks are optional and social distancing practices are encouraged. Stephanie Chefas Projects is located in Portland, Oregon at 305 SE 3rd Avenue on the second floor of the Urban Row building. The exhibition will be on view through May 7, 2022 and is free and open to the public.
